My name is Natália, and I am a Slovak language teacher at Flamingos Online Slovak School. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the beauty of our language, and today I have the opportunity to share that passion with students from around the world. In this post, I would like to share my experiences and explain why I decided to work for our school and why this work is so inspiring to me.
Sharing Slovak Heritage
Working at Flamingos Online Slovak School allows me not only to teach Slovak but also to reveal the rich history and culture of Slovakia. Our main goal is to promote the Slovak language, culture, and history to the global Slovak community, as well as to foreign enthusiasts who want to learn and experience our beautiful language. My students—ranging from children to young adults and professionals—learn not only the fundamentals of Slovak but also gain a deeper understanding of the traditions and lifestyle of modern Slovaks.
Flexibility and Innovation in Online Education
One of the main reasons I chose to join the Flamingos team is the absolute flexibility this position offers. Working from home—or from any location of your choice—with a flexible schedule that you can adapt to your needs is incredibly valuable to me. Our school operates 7 days a week, allowing us to choose teaching times that suit students from different time zones.
In addition, we use modern interactive tools and digital technologies that enhance the way students learn Slovak. Each lesson is designed to be innovative, engaging, and tailored to the individual needs of the students, whether it is improving grammar, expanding vocabulary, or understanding Slovak traditions.
Working with an International Student Community
I work with children and adults from all over the world—from absolute beginners to advanced learners. It is incredibly enriching to see how our language becomes a bridge between cultures. Our students learn not only Slovak but also discover Slovak heritage, culture, and history. Every lesson is an opportunity to inspire and motivate people to embrace not only the language but also the values and traditions that make Slovakia so unique.
A Personal Approach and Passion for Teaching
A personal approach is essential to me. I believe that teaching Slovak is not just about learning words and phrases, but also about discovering cultural roots, history, and traditions. I am part of a team of enthusiastic and experienced teachers who love experimenting with new methods and constantly seek ways to make learning even more interesting. Our lessons can take place in small groups or on an individual basis, creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere for every student.
