We visited the CVAR (The Center of Visual Arts and Research) gallery and museum, which boasts a wonderful and rich collection of paintings, books and objects related to the history of Cyprus and Nicosia. In the museum, we looked for “treasures” in old paintings and looked at period costumes and other interesting historical objects. We heard the story of Catherine Cornero – the last queen of Cyprus and even bowed to her. 🙂 We also tried the dance of the dancing dervishes and it is not at all as easy as it might seem at first glance. The owner of the museum p. Rita Severis guided us through the streets of old Nicosia right next to the center and told us interesting facts about the city.
